AUMSA, or the Auckland University Medical Students Association, is a body elected and run by the student body to represent and act for the interests of Auckland medical students.
The AUMSA constitution and information on the AUMSA travel fund can be found in the submenu on your left.
This is your student association, so we are here to help. Please feel free to approach a member of the exec if you think they can help you, especially if you have issues that need to be addressed at a higher level. For example… if you are angry that you can never get an appointment at the pink cottage, talk to the welfare reps: they can go and talk to the right people and try to get things done. Or if you cant ever find a seat in the library, talk to the education reps: they sit on the library committee and can address the problem directly. If you don’t want to speak to AUMSA reps directly, you can always ask your class rep to bring up the problem at the next exec meeting.
It costs $175 to join AUMSA, NZMSA and NZMA for 5 years, or it costs $40 per year. Most students join in 2nd year. You need to fill in a membership form and send it, along with your money, to the AUMSA Secretary. Email for more details.
Another method to pay is by bank deposit into the AUMSA Bank Account: 12-3024-0640401-00. Accompanying this payment, in the reference section could you please write your university ID number, your name and the event name (AUMSA membership). Then email to confirm that you deposited the money.
