For those of you who want to get a head start for your medical school career - listen up!
MEDSCHOOL 101 MEDSCHOOL 101 is an event put on by the AUMSA Education reps for second and third years during early Semester 1. This event will feature pre-clinical and clinical students who will speak of their experiences, tips and essential guidelines of med school during MBCHB 2, 4,5 and 6.
Location: Lewis Lecture Theatre Time: 11th March, 1-2pm

AUMSA Fresher’s Camp 2008 |

Hey guys, Fresher’s camp has always been a great event bringing together freshers and the rest of the med school for a weekend of fun and games.Here are a couple of reasons why you don’t want to miss this year’s fresher’s camp. • This year fresher’s is at the party island of Motutapu meaning that we can chill out and swim on a beautiful beach • The camp owner is pretty relaxed about us partying • The first ever initiation ceremony, nothing too intense but hopefully a bit of fun will be held • Only $48 for an entire weekend including food accommodation and ferry. This is a reduced rate. • Great chance to get to know other years • Another greet chance to get involved with your students association AUMSA • The camp can hold up to 182 people and with the biggest fresher’s class to date this will be the fresher’s camp ever • Heaps of things to do like tug of war, spotlight, best rubbish bag costume competition • Fresher Vs Non Fresher competitions • Music and sound system organized for an awesome party • Great BBQ food • And much, much more………… Get in quick we only have limited spaces |

The University of Auckland Council are considering a vote to increase domestic fees for 2007, across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, at their next meeting on Monday 16 October at 4pm. The University's costs are set to rise by around 5.5%, but Government funding is set to increase by only 2.5%. To fill the funding shortfall, the University wishes to raise our fees. |
